Rare Italian carved gilt wood candlestick floor lamp--has vellum lamp shade that is made up of a 16thc a antiphony-shade is 22.5 inches high by 17 inches wide -vellum shows wear-lamp is 68 inches high and has 17 inch diameter base-candlestick comes apart for shipping-shows wear-nicely carved solomonic design-most likely originally created for church in 1700s-converted to lamp for Spanish or Italinate interior in the 20s-has great look-old world -rewired recently

When the Norwegians became independent from Sweden in the early 20th century, there was a burst of pent up Norwegian nationalism--call Norwegian revival or Viking revival-but this ship chandelier was a product of this period--you do not have to be a descendant of Lief Erickson to appreciate this marvelous work of art--made of sheets of brass with raised designs-great fierce figurehead--cut colored faceted glass port holes that come alive when lighted-even the Viking ships planked sides are there-rewired-no condition problems--some oxidation to brass from flying through the salty skies of Puerto Rico--easily removed-35 inches in length-53 inch drop-12 inches deep--decorative and historically interesting object

Eisenglas is a mineral compond that is flame resistant and was used in windows of fancy iron parlour stoves and to a lessor extent in lamp shades associated gas flame or candles--was in use last part of 19th century and early 20th century--it was sought after not only for its fire resistant qualities but also light transfered thru the shades is very pretty-amber colored light-This pair of lamps are 24 inches high with 5.25 inch base--made of spelter-a combination of lead and tin--these are very heavy, so the lead content is unusually high-lamp shades are 7 inches--originally they were gas fired and later converted to electic-- fantasy design-galleon and Indians--paint them your own color if you do not like gold--nobody else on your block will have them--lamps are over 100 years old-no condition problems or repairs
