Pair of outstanding carved tropical wood helmet masks-polychrome and decorated on top with bent nails and feathers-12 inches long-8 inches wide and deep-masks have woven rattan and hand loomed textile to form cap for helmet-these are soiled and worn-thin, hairline shrinkage cracks on both masks-masks are sold as is, directly from native African trader--most certainly used in dance rituals-1930s or older-sold as pair-unusual masks-probably male and female
