Spectacular carved hardwood African chair-Angolan Chokwe tribe-19thc pre -colonial-heavy figural carving all over-motif of carving is the birth cycle and related to fertility-sturdy-hide seat decorated on side with brass tacks-hide has crack-seat was used by tribe as furniture-mostly found in Swiss and German collections--provenance on request-in museum collections with scholarship-25 inches high by 12 inches wide-15 deep-this seat is one way to teach the birds and bees -sturdy-minor surface wear -complete with minor damage to one carving on the back splat
