Two carved wood East African Masai shields-appear to carved by same hand-one appears to have female visage while the other is male-one bears carved scars the other has not-pieces are believed to be over 100 years old-there are splits in wood from drying and have been crudely repaired by native binding-minor damage to edge of both shields--despite the ravages of time and use they art sill magnificent-they should be cleaned and waxed-50 inches tall-19 inches wide-wood is curved--doubt you find others as Masai shields now from animal hide
