Outstanding pair of hand-carved tropical wood Spanish Colonial architectural elements from Jesuit church in Greater Peru-late 17thc to early 18thc-highly decorative gold leaf and polychrome with angel heads in center-were probably used on top of confessional now perfect for over doors-sturdy pieces-there is a slight difference in size-one is 34 inches wide-22.5 inches high and protrudes from wall 6 inches--the other is 35 inches wide-22.5 inches high and protrudes 5.5 inches from the wall-both have minor surface wear--gold leaf is real not paint-museum quality

Rare 17thc carved gilt bas relief wall panel of St Peter --it was part of the decoration from Jesuit wood church in Greater Peru--now Bolivia-has custom tags from Bolivia on back-gilt is gold leaf-Jesuits were banned in area in early 18thc--these panels festooned the inside of churches-churches were almost always wood-wear to surface, but piece appears complete.49.5 high by 22.5 inches wide--relief comes out 4.5 inches-- St Peter carries the keys to the heavenly kingdom--one of kind-museum quality
