Rare piece.A Russian silver repousse and chased icon rizza or oklad-depicts the life of St George with Cyrillic makers mark-probably Ivan Frukin Moscow-1863-1897-mounted on velvet board-13 inches by 17 inches--original painted icon long gone--silver work is of the highest quality-writing in church Slavonic describing each of the six scenes in the life of St George--overall condition is good-silver missing on part of margins of top left and right scenes and ceter bottom--a richly decorative piece with unusual subject matter-historically and artistically significant
