Rare collection of the four evangelists-each painted on one of four wood boards--late 17thc-early 18thc-Cuzco school-Spanish Colonial from greater Peru-these were installed as part of Jesuit wood church in now what is now Bolivia--each evangelist is represented with his symbol-Matthew/angel-Mark/lion-John/eagle and Luke/0x-some surface losses-all could be cleaned-trim is gold leaf-parts of forged nails in back-pieces appear in original condition and untouched-each 16 inches by 10 inches-.75 inches thick---amazing that collection remained complete over the years-
