A pair of French Franco Prussian War military scenes--Ca 1870s Oil on canvas, signed in the lower right corner, A. Bulguet each 8" x 10" canvas size, each framed in a frilly frame with gilt and white wash overall measuring 11-1/2" x 13-1/2". The uniforms are French infantry, ca. 1850-1880.
Condition: yellowed varnish-needs cleaning--back of canvas painted with silver paint-frames appear inappropriate-no restorations-all is original

A blue parrot, oil on gold leaf pigment background over textured gessoed surface on artist's board, signed in red at bottom, framed in a black frame with a fancy gilt inner edge, overall 30" x 24". A very stylishly executed image of a parrot spreading its wings and standing on a meandering branch--condition is good--my sense is the old varnish has subdued the gold leaf background and it should be cleaned--looks okay as is, but may come out spectacular--style has a Whisler feel.ca 1920s.
