Fascinating pair of carved, dark stained wood recumbent Lions-pieces sit loosely on original wood bases--pieces have great character-doubt carver ever saw a lion--losses to surface-one paw has been glued-but they are all there-except for the paw, pieces have not been touched--wood appears to be pine-maybe cedar-pieces over 200 years--pieces have a sphinx like appearance--base 24 inches long and 17 inches deep-size of lions 18 inches long and 12 inches high--great folk art-AMERICAN
