Rare pair of English porcelain fruit coolers-lids come off to hold ice in cavity as food is cooled on top inside-beautifully decorated-unmarked but there was a penciled note inside indicating it was PIXNICK 1782-wear to gilt-coolers still bright--fruit coolers were a key item on buffets in up scale town and country houses in England--these are difficult to find complete-- these are from upper class estate in Puerto Rico--13 inches to top of loops
