| Very rare English porcelain hand painted tureen-ca 1820--most likely from Staffordshire area--composed of three pieces-bowl, lid and underplate-no repairs-mint condition--beautiful colors-bucolic subjects in decoration-as well as a fascination with highly colored moths-gold trim highlights-raised designs in porcelain--7 inch diameter plate-tureen with lid 6.5 inches--this porcelain is museum quality--had to be conserved out of sight to survive in it outstanding condition----the moth design is very unusual and plays to a collectors mentality in the early 19th century-probably made by Ralph and Jones Clews-1815-1834 | ||||||||||||
