| Compass came from Soviet ship stranded in San Juan , Puerto Rico--ship was sold for salvage but to survive crew sold compass prior to destruction of ship-There is no Cyrillic writing on compass so it is doubtful it is Russian--maybe made in East Germany or Poland in the mid- 20th century-liquid compass-still works-heavy solid brass housing-8.5 inches by 10.75 inches--nice looking instrument | |||||||||
