Antique Carved Beaded African Head Dress Cameroon
Amazing carved tropical wood African dance head dress mask--wood is covered with fine covered colored beads-piece involves four figural elements attached on weaved fiber base-piece from the Cameroons, most likely from the Bamboliki tribe-piece is heavy and wearer would need a neck like Barry Bond's to support it-some beads missing on knee of small male twin on left--there was some type of textile on back that is gone only traces remain-piece is dirty-fiber shows signs of human contact-private collector who sold the piece said it over 75 years-32 inches tall--14 inches wide-10 inches deep--said to be a kings piece because of predominant red color--very impressive and rare
